When walking up to the Revel in Chicago’s hip West Loop neighborhood, it’s no surprise to hear the thumping of loud music and the weekday energy exploding into the early fall Friday night. The glow of the lights blinking WINE RIOT showered bubbly attendants slapping on wristbands and clutching to wine glasses, all personally decorated. The hall filled with excited wine-o’s ready to document the social media event of the year for all Chicago wine-enthusiasts.
Wine Riot, the traveling festival bursting with wines from around the world and crash courses educating wine lovers on their drink of choice, took place in Chicago last weekend. While attendees sipped they had the chance for the first time to be an immediate social media participant of the festival with UPshow.
Guests excited to share about Wine Riot on social media could also be a part of the fun in venue as the UPshow screen displayed all content using #WineRiot on a large television screen glowing in the center of the hall. The possible popular social media post options seemed endless with influencers raising their glass high above the crowd and thousands of wine bottles, groups huddling in the photo booth with feather boas and cheesy grins and even sommeliers using the hashtag as an opportunity to display their favorite wine tastings of the night.
Wine Riot guests took to the opportunity to be featured on Wine Riot’s own Social Television so well, the festival’s UPshow screen was in the top 3 best performing screens of the week amongst UPshow’s thousands of screens worldwide.
The “UPshow Effect” will continue to thrill wine enthusiasts as the UPshow screen will travel to the East Coast for the upcoming Wine Riots.
